TToT72: Spring Break In Photos

It's not springtime in TX without several hundred bluebonnet photos.

We're not skeered of Listeria!

I snapped this from the driver's seat. I never knew this sight was odd until I brought Brian to TX.

Another common highway sight. And with my cell phone, no less!

On the last day he summoned the guts to approach the friendly, singing dinosaur.

    1. I know! I can't get over 'em. Well, my son's favorite thing (besides Purple Hippo) is a "net ball" as he calls it. So I made an egg. Had to go hunt one up to figure out how to draw the lines, though.

The blue bonnets are STUNNING and I'm so glad you got to go and see them.

    1. They are. I wish you could see them. Huge blue fields all along the highways.

  4. Your kids are so cute, but I have to admit a real weakness for Leo in those overalls! Hope your trip has been a good one. You should swing through here on your way home from Texas!

    1. I have such a thing for little boys in overalls. Is there anything cuter? I buy him a pair every season. When I was a kid, we always drove through Joplin on our way to IA. I remember a Holiday Inn with a water wheel inside it. Ring a bell?

  8. any post with a triceratops in it is excellent!

('horse shoes and hand grenades' I was using, what has become a secondary meaning of what is otherwise an old colloquial i.e. 'close doesn't count, except in horseshoes and hand grenades'… which I learned as a child is surely a post-War* language artifact)

not that I was alive at the time! lol I grew up in the 50s and 60s and a lot of that was spent playing army..
