TToT89: Shameful

It's shameful, truly (or shameless--I never am quite sure). Three weeks gone.

But I am back and ready to immerse myself once again in the land of the TToT.

I have a family--a large one--whose answer to tragedy is to band together, to hold hands, to love each other ever stronger.

I have traditions that I will cling to forever--familiar games and songs and stories, and now Sad Country Fridays with bourbon (one ice cube).

I have a family of my own who need me in so many different ways who both grant me leeway and keep my attention riveted.

That's ten.

P.S. I need new picture software. Recommendations?

  1. I have been out of the loop too but for fun reasons. Hope all is well there. And I am glad you are back!

  2. Beautiful.
So many out of the loopers around here...but we always come back together, don't we?

  4. Who am I to argue with your counting system? :)
Glad you're feeling a little better. Being with your extended family must have been very therapeutic for you. Still wish you had swung by here on your way home :)
(I thought you were driving to Texas when I first suggested it, so it really wasn't as far-fetched a request as it sounded at the time.)

    1. If I were driving, I would definitely stop. When I was a kid, we often stayed at the Holidome in Joplin on our trips to and from Iowa. I bet it doesn't exist anymore.

    2. There's still a Holiday Inn, and it's been here for ages, so I bet it's the same place.

  5. A full, full ten, Sarah. And no, I will not argue with your counting system either!

  6. (some of the lucky kids got to go away to Camp when we were all young and Summer lasted from one school year to the next, from the relief of being out of class to anticipation of going back to see friend.)

good to see you here at T-ville

    1. Thanks, Clark. I was too timid and shy of a kid to enjoy camp much.

  7. Welcome back.
    :-)
Isn't family a wonderful thing, when you need them and when they need you?

  8. NO SHAME! NO SHAME! Ohhhh how am I ever going to get it through the brains of the people in this hop - there is NO obligation and NO need to feel shame about not turning up, or being late, or just ANYTHINGGGG!

BUT. I'm glad you had your family around you, and that you all bonded so beautifully and have lovely traditions and...and I'm glad you sang to me <3 Love you, my friend.

  9. I love that picture. I use PicMonkey. Speaking of bourbon, do you have any bourbon chicken recipes? I need something for my book club on Friday night. Glad you back in the hop. I missed you.

  10. I agree with Lizzi--not shameful at all. Be nice to yourself! However, it is nice to see you back. :-)

  11. It is good to see you back. I know what you mean about the shame that comes with not doing the TToT rounds. There have been times when I am gone every weekend and just can't do it. I feel bad. Though neither you nor I should.

I'm glad you have been able to find comfort with your family. Not everyone has one or is able to find comfort in the one they have. My mom always got annoyed with people who complained about having to go home for Thanksgiving. She would give just about anything to have a family to go home to.

  13. That picture of you all jumping in the water says it all. When I saw some similar ones on fb I thought how happy and close you all looked. I'm glad to see you back!
