TToT100: What's That?

Ahem...did you see that?

This is my 100th TToT post!!!!

So, on to it...

It's been a lovely week. There've been play dates and lunch dates and art projects and reasonably good meals.

I did vidchat tonight and blew Clark a kiss and said hi to Tucker and someone told me (it gets confusing on vidchat) that I looked pretty.

I caught my little boy singing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Sky in his bed today. He hardly ever sings. I've never heard him sing a full song, in fact. I don't know if he's really less interested in music than my daughter (who sings a lot and pretty well) or if he's decided that's her thing and not his. But I managed to sneak outside his bedroom door and make a recording.

And I've been productive. I've made two new throw pillow covers out of scraps and remnants, Leo and I used up all those pompoms, and I ironed a tablecloth and set of napkins that have been piled up in the basement for some time.

The green one was once a skirt.

I'm getting the itch to paint some more rooms. Waiting for the next Sherwin-Williams 40% off sale.

How was your week?

  2. Pillow covers are my kind of craft project. The bird fabric is lovely and I'm impressed with the edging you put on that one. This is a good time of the year for painting and update the house. We're years behind on it, though. You always look pretty, Miss Sarah. Happy kids (and people) sing. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

    1. You know what that edging is made from? The flannel bag our sheets came in!!! I keep extra material like that, and I almost always find a use for it. I made way too much cording for another pillow in our bedroom so I used up the rest of it for this one.
      Hey, I sing!

  4. I still have rooms to paint - but no itch for it at the moment. I like the bird fabric a lot, but the green one is pretty too. My youngest used to walk around singing a lot when he was little. It was cute but I never managed to record it.

    1. Yeah, the itch has been missing for some time. I wait for it to appear and take care of a few rooms at a time. I'm thinking basement rooms this time.

  5. I have a room you can paint. Already have half a gallon of paint. Its the kids room so decontamination has to happen first.

  10. …was fun (however brief) on the vidchat
singing is so tied to (a) feeling of security, a person singing (child for the first time or adult among friends) surely knows that what they do is being received without judgment or criticism (and singing is one of the most quickly judged voluntary social activities available to us all) so that's pretty damn cool

  14. Happy 100th! Has it really been that long that we're doing this...? Awesome.
You are so creative and that makes me smile because i really am not. I live vicariously...
We have not been connecting much lately and I am SO not glad about that - and so sorry. And I am definitely sorry to have missed the Friday night vidchat, but I was out sans Kidzilla with the Hub, so...next time.

  15. If that itch gets to be too much for you, come on over. I have several rooms that need a coat of paint!

  17. Your pillow with the birds is beautiful! I love that fabric. Listening to little children singing is adorable. I remember making a few tape recordings of moments like that years ago.
